The original Cuban highball — light rum, fresh lime, and ice-cold Coca-Cola. A classic that’s infinitely easier to pour than it is to perfect, because the best versions depend on fresh lime and really good ice.

When To Serve

PERFECT FOR

Casual parties, BBQs, sports-themed events, and guests who want a familiar, low-maintenance drink.

Customize

MAKE IT YOUR OWN

Use Mexican Coke (cane sugar, not corn syrup — tastes noticeably better), add a dash of bitters for a more cocktail-forward version, or try it with aged rum for more depth.

Bartender's Secret

Pro tip: Lime is what separates a Cuba Libre from a rum and Coke. Squeeze and drop the wedge into the drink — the oils from the peel make a real difference.
